Eleven Months

Our sweet girl is officially 11 months old, which means that she will be 1 year old in less than a month! I can't believe it, but I'm so excited to see what the next year will bring (without wishing away her life, of course).

I can tell lots of big things are happening, because this month Gretchen has started to take steps on her own! They are infrequent, but 2-3 at a time. Then, when she realizes that she is walking she looks at her feet all confused as to say, "what are my feet doing?" and plops to the ground. She is adorable. I love watching her grow and explore her surroundings.

Gretchen is teething and has a new tooth in the front of her mouth to the side of her two front teeth (on the right). I think other teeth are growing in, too, as she is having a difficult time with sleeping and eating.

Her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, spaghetti o's and she enjoys cheese. She likes avocado, fresh pineapple, strawberries, grapes and much more. Peas are probably her favorite vegetable, but she will eat sweet potato, squash and others, too. Although she can be picky, we feed her plenty of what she likes and try our best to give her organic and fresh foods only. Of course, her favorite snack is gold fish crackers, which aren't really organic, but she's a kid and she enjoys them.

Gretchen is doing well in the car (for the most part), enjoys being outside, and playing with all of her toys. She has plenty, but we are opening a daycare in June, so those toys will be spread among three little children instead of just her.

Birthday party plans are being made and she will have her party on Sunday, May 6th at our house. We have gotten her a water table, an inflatable bouncy horse and are picking up a wagon. She is such a lucky girl and we love her so incredibly much. She brightens up everybody's lives with her gorgeous toothy smile and big beautiful blue eyes. We love you, Gretchen, to the moon and back!
