Gretchen turned 10 months old on March 11th, and as you can see I'm a little bit behind (we've been busy). She has been developing quickly throughout the past several weeks, and can now speak in short phrases ("hi daddy," "hi kitty," etc.). She can also point with her index finger, wave her hands in different directions, and pull herself into a standing position. This month she even took 2-3 steps unassisted, walking her way towards her Grammie Sawyer, who happened to have an intriguing toy in her hands. Nate and I will continue to practice "walking" with her to see if we can help her feel more secure on her own two feet. It's incredible to think that she might be walking by her first birthday (May 11th).
Gretchen had another ear infection this month, but she's better now, after some antibiotics. That's her second ear infection since she was born, but she's doing just fine and does well with the medicine.
She is eating almost everything you can think of, except for honey and we haven't tried peanut butter yet. Honey is definitely a "no no" until at least 12 months due to the risks of botulism, and peanut butter is okay to give at any time as long as your family does not have allergies to food, but we just don't carry it in the house so we haven't tried it. Gretchen has eaten fish, recently, and loves it, so she's open to many food choices.
On a daily basis, Gretchen enjoys going for walks outside, reading books, playing with her toys, especially her Little People and dolls, she loves her musical activity table, pulling the cat's tail and trying to sneak cat food whenever she can (ew), and many more activities.
She is enjoying the car more now that she is getting older, and loves to sit in the shopping cart and look at the surroundings as we shop. She is definitely a people-person and has quite the personality. A smile is always on her face unless she's upset that you took the cat food away from her! ;-)
